My Story not for the weak of heart

a year after my parents were baptized i was born in 1954. that same year my father was appointed presiding overseer and remained in that position until the early sixties despite the fact he was still smoking.

he gained the position by default because he was the only baptized man who could read.

thus began my life course of abuse, neglect and cult thinking.

1 year ago today they announced I was "no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses"

i am going out with my bff and a few other good friends for dinner, drinks and cards tonight!

looking forward to a night out with the "girls" who have been by my side since day 1. .

How long did it take until you had that 'light bulb' moment?

for me, it was about 2 1/2 years into studying.

i'm a guy and i'm attracted to both guys and girls.

took me well... started with being exposed at 5 and not thinking everything was good at 30.... left at at 32 now 35 and still feel pain

How many elders, HLC members know CPR?

anyone who has ever taken a first aid class knows that cpr training and first aid training are basic life saving requirements for anyone in the professional medical community.

if you were ever discussing any medical choices with someone who wanted to advise you on a medical / health decision, you would want to be comfortable that if something were to happen to you all the sudden, that this person you were seeking advice from could provide basic medical aid, like cpr.

if it's a nurse or a doctor or a paramedic, you would expect that they would know what to do.

They are just taught JW knowledge. Spent lots of time with a few when I was a pro no blood JW nurse that helped JW's and non JW's understand. The ones I talked to had JW literature to explain things and that was as far as there medical knowledge went.... makes me sick

no no and no! i think i would have all the elders sitting around me to protect the congregation. I am verbal about how I feel about the cult and tell as many as I can how dangerous they are
